I use a computer all the time! When I am researching new things to write about or designing a new experiment, I use the Internet to look up all of the information I need. I also have memberships to a lot of scientific journals so that I can read new research as soon as it comes out. When I’m creating a new fictional creature, like an alien or a monster, I do a lot of research online for that, too – mostly looking up existing animals to find out how they adapt to their environments.
Often, I have to talk to scientists who are scattered around the globe, so I do a lot of video chatting. Sometimes I get to see funny things – once, I was talking to some researchers in Asia, and a monkey tried to steal their phone! I also use computer programs to draw and design the creatures I create, teach science long-distance, and of course I use one all the time for writing. Hopefully, I’ll be able to use technology to do live chats like the ones on “I’m a Scientist” more often. This is a lot of fun!
