I’m still only a trainee and I haven’t been in my job for that long so I haven’t done as many tests as some other scientists. But I test a few patients every week. Most of the tests I do at the moment are for patients with blood cancer who are either already treated and we need to check how well the medication is working or patients who may need to be treated soon because they’re getting unwell. My tests help doctors to decide which medication may be the most effective one for these patients and if they may need to change the treatment because the current one isn’t working very well.
